San Siro — officially Stadio Giuseppe Meazza — is one of football's iconic stadiums. Shared by Inter and AC Milan, its three-tiered bowl, spiral access ramps and 75,000 capacity make it one of the most recognisable venues in the sport.

This guide covers the stadium's quirks, transport, tickets and matchday tips for both clubs.

Stands and where to sit

San Siro is built in three tiers — primo, secondo and terzo — with the upper tier offering iconic but steep views. The Curva Nord houses Inter ultras and the Curva Sud houses Milan ultras; both rotate based on who is the home side.

The Tribuna d'Onore (main stand) houses the dressing rooms and tunnel. The second tier provides the best all-round views; first-time visitors often choose secondo arancio or secondo blu.

Getting to San Siro

Metro M5 (purple) runs directly to San Siro Stadio. Allow 25-30 minutes from the Duomo. The walk down from the metro to the stadium is a Milan ritual — wide pedestrian boulevards, food stalls and ultras chanting on big nights.

After the game, the metro is busy but frequent. Most travelling fans head back to Brera or Navigli for late-night aperitivo.
